PCBS: Increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential Buildings

RAMALLAH, Thursday, July 25, 2024 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) has Thursday issued a report in which it discussed Construction Cost Index (CCI), Road Cost Index (RCI), Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) and Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank during June, 2024.

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings in the West Bank* reached 121.55 with an increase of 0.31% during June 2024 compared with May 2024 (base year 2013=100).

At the level of major groups, the prices of raw material increased by 0.50%. While, the prices of rental of equipment decreased by 0.55%, and the prices of the labour costs and wages slightly decreased by 0.06% during June 2024 compared with the previous month.

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for non-residential buildings in the West Bank* reached 120.49 with an increase of 0.32% during June 2024 compared with May 2024 (base year 2013=100).

At the level of major groups, the prices of raw material increased by 0.50%. While, the prices of rental of equipment decreased by 0.44%, and the prices of the labour costs and wages slightly decreased by 0.06% during June 2024 compared with the previous month.

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for skeleton buildings in the West Bank* reached 121.30 with an increase of 0.68% during June 2024 compared with May 2024 (Base year 2013=100).

At the level of major groups, the prices of raw material increased by 1.02%, and the prices of the labour costs and wages increased by 0.12%. While, the prices of rental of equipment decreased by 0.54% during June 2024 compared with the previous month.

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) in the West Bank* reached 118.35 with an increase of 0.26% during June 2024 compared with May 2024 (Base month December 2008=100).

At the level of major groups, the prices of the labour costs and wages increased by 1.35%, and the prices of raw material increased by 0.30%. While, the prices of operating costs of equipment and maintenance decreased by 1.00%, and the prices of rental of equipment decreased by 0.29% during June 2024 compared with the previous month.

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) in the West Bank* reached 130.64 with an increase of 0.40% during June 2024 compared with May 2024 (Base month January 2010=100).

Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 122.29 with an increase of 1.26%, and the Water Networks Cost Index reached 134.44 with a slight increase of 0.05% during June 2024 compared with May 2024.

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank* reached 116.81 with a decrease of 0.10% during June 2024 compared with May 2024 (Base month January 2010=100).
