Israeli forces press aggression against Hebron for eighth consecutive day

HEBRON, October 30, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Friday pressed their aggression against the occupied West Bank city of Hebron for the eighth consecutive day, according to eyewitnesses.

They said that the occupation forces dispatched additional military reinforcements, accompanied by engineering units, to the Deir Bahha area, which has been closed off and under siege by the occupation forces since last Friday.

They added that the occupation forces raided the home of a Palestinian accused of carrying out a shooting attack in the Farsh al-Hawa area last week. The forces began digging and carrying out demolition work inside the house, and displaced more families from their homes in the area.

Meanwhile, the occupying forces stormed several neighborhoods in Hebron and the village of al-Rihiya to the south, detaining three Palestinians, including a former prisoner, brutally beating them up.

For the eighth consecutive day, the occupation forces have continued to completely seal off all entrances to and exits from Hebron, as well as close the al-Jilda and Deir Bahha areas, while conducting daily house-to-house raids, conducting thorough searches and wreaking havoc.

According to official data, the occupation forces have forcibly displaced 537 families, comprising 3,361 people, from their homes in the al-Jilda and Deir Bahha areas. Hundreds of other families remain trapped inside their homes, with the gun-toting preventing them from moving around or receiving assistance.

The Hebron Chamber of Commerce estimates that direct losses resulting from the closures in the city range between 10 and 12 million shekels per day, including approximately one million shekels in the dairy sector alone.

The assault also disrupted education for around 262,000 students at 589 schools across the governorate last week, while thousands of students in besieged and displaced areas remain unable to reach their schools.

Meanwhile, the Support and Relief Committee announced that it had verified the data of 537 affected families comprising 3,361 people. These include 232 infants, 1,193 children aged between two and 17, 326 elderly people, 147 pregnant and breastfeeding women, 32 persons with disabilities, and 213 people suffering from chronic illnesses.
