Palestinian official media wins six awards at Arab Radio and TV Festival

RAMALLAH, Sunday, June 30, 2024 (WAFA) – The Palestine Public Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) has secured six prestigious awards at the 24th Arab Radio and TV Festival, which concluded its activities last night in the Tunisian capital amidst fierce competition among official radio and television institutions, private media entities, and production companies across the Arab world.

The radio program "Psychological Counseling in Times of War" claimed the first prize, while "Radio Flash" on school violence also earned the top spot. Additionally, PBC received first prizes for radio news exchanges and a television report dedicated to late journalist Mohammad Abu Hattab, a correspondent for Palestine TV who has been killed by Israeli troops in Gaza.

Furthermore, PBC was awarded the second prize for the cultural program "Sadanat al-Riwaya" and another award for the film "Noura" produced by the Palestine TV.

Minister Ahmed Assaf, the General Supervisor of the Palestinian Official Media, praised this significant achievement, expressing pride in the efforts of those working in official media for securing these awards.

Assaf emphasized that the annual success of Official Media reflects the high standing achieved by PBC, despite the challenging circumstances and significant obstacles imposed by the Israeli occupation on the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza, which faces genocide and ongoing targeting of media personnel and their families.
