RAMALLAH, Tuesday, June 4, 2024 (WAFA) – A sharp decrease has been noted in the Industrial Production Index (IPI) in Palestine during April, 2024, in comparison to April 2023, according to a report by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).
The PCBS report said that the overall IPI in Palestine reached 75.07 during April 2024 with a sharp decrease of 22.50% compared to April 2023 (Base Year 2019 = 100).
Compared with previous month, the overall IPI in Palestine reached 75.07 during April 2024 with a decrease of 6.30% compared to March 2024 (Base Year 2019 = 100).
IPI for April 2024 decreased due to the decrease in the activities of Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation by 17.41%, which had a share of 1.84% of the total industry, the activities of Electricity, Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning Supply by 7.55%, which had a share of 7.38% of the total industry, and the activities of Manufacturing Industry by 5.91%, which had a share of 87.89% of the total industry. While, the activities of Mining and Quarrying increased by 0.97%, which had a share of 2.89% of the total industry.
