RAMALLAH, Friday, May 17, 2024 (WAFA) – The weather today is mainly clear and relatively hot to hot and extremely hot in the Jordan Valley with a significant rise of temperature, which approaches 4°C above the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

The weather tonight is mainly clear and relatively cold in the mountains and fair in other areas. Light to moderate northerly to northwesterly wind blows. Sea waves are low to medium.

The temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 29°C and a low of 20°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 28°C and a low of 19°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 38°C and a low of 28°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 29°C and a low of 23°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Saturday’s temperature is set to further slightly rise, approaching 5°C above the seasonal average and paving the way to mostly clear and relatively hot to hot conditions in most districts and extremely hot conditions in the Jordan Valley.

No significant change is expected in temperatures on Sunday and Monday as hot to very hot conditions continue to prevail.

PMD warns people against being directly exposed to the sun for long periods and setting fire to dry grassy areas.
