Israeli forces obstruct Palestinian movement on northern West Bank roads

SALFIT, Tuesday, May 13, 2024 (WAFA) –  The Israeli occupation forces today obstructed the movement of Palestinians in Derastia, northwest of Salfit, and prevented them from entering or leaving.

Settlement activist Nazmi Al-Salman said that the occupation soldiers prevented Palestinians' vehicles from entering or leaving through the northern side entrance to the town, which citizens have been using for more than two months, after the occupation closed the main entrance to the town with earth mounds.

Al-Salman added that the occupation forces are practicing a policy of collective punishment against the towns of Derastiya, Kifl Haris, and Haris, and are tightening their grip on approximately 20,000 residents, as they closed the entrances to these towns with dirt barriers and iron gates, which forced them to move through one narrow side road.

It is noteworthy that the town of Derastiya has been witnessing ongoing attacks by the occupation forces, involving, random searches of passing vehicles and the firing of sound bombs towards residents and inside the town.
