DOHA, July 15, 2026 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday arrived in Doha to offer condolences on the passing of the former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

President Abbas met with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and offered his condolences on the passing of his father.

President Abbas and the accompanying delegation were received upon arrival at Lusail Palace by Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. Upon their arrival at Hamad International Airport, they were welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and Palestine’s Ambassador to Qatar, Fayez Abu Al Rab.

The President is accompanied by an official delegation comprising Vice President and Vice Chairman of the PLO Executive Committee Hussein Al Sheikh, PLO Executive Committee Member Ziad Abu Amr, Fatah Central Committee Member Yasser Abbas, and the President's Diplomatic Adviser Majdi Al-Khaldi.
