Palestinian sustains injury in colonist attack south of Hebron

HEBRON, July 15, 2026 (WAFA) — A Palestinian on Wednesday sustained bruises following an attack by Israeli colonists in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, according to an activist.

Osama Makhamreh told WAFA that armed colonists attacked Ragheb Al-Dababseh, beating him as he attempted to reach his home in Khallat al-Daba' in Masafer Yatta.

The assault left him with injuries that required his transfer to Yatta Government Hospital.

Meanwhile, armed colonists conducted provocative patrols around residents' homes in "Khallat Ali Ghunaim" in the town of Surif, north of Hebron, where they verbally abused the inhabitants.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
