Weather: Low-pressure front affects country

RAMALLAH, Monday, May 6, 2024 (WAFA) – Partially cloudy to cloudy and relatively cold skies are expected today in Palestine as a low-pressure cold front is expected to affect the country, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department.

Temperature drops and becomes seven degrees Celsius lower than its annual average.

Scattered rain showers is expected in most areas, which may be heavy and be accompanied by by thunderstorms. Winds are southwesterly to westerly, active, with strong gusts at times. Sea waves is rough.

Tuesday's weather will be partially cloudy to clear. A slight chance of scattered light rain in some areas is expected. Temperature is expected to rise while remaining below the general average. 

On Wednesday, the weather will be partially cloudy to clear, moderate, with a relatively cold day in the evening and night hours, especially over the mountainous areas. Another rise in temperatures is expected to become around their general average.

Thursday's weather will be partly cloudy to clear, hot and dry. Temperature is expected to significantly rise to become higher than the general average by about five degrees Celsius. Winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly active, with strong gusts at times. Sea will be high.

PMD warned citizens of slippery roads in areas, low horizontal visibility, formation of fog and low clouds.
