Occupation forces arrest Red Crescent personnel and hospital staff in Khan Yunis

KHAN YUNIS, Friday, February 9, 2024 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported this evening that several of its personnel, along with caregivers of the wounded and patients, have been arrested by the Israeli occupation forces at the Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

Earlier today, Israeli occupation forces raided the hospital, affiliated with the Palestinian Red Crescent, conducting searches within the premises.

In recent weeks, the occupation forces have laid a tight military siege around the hospital, launching shelling and gunfire in the vicinity of the hospital at times, endangering the lives of patients and medical staff inside and causing significant damage to the building.

The Palestinian Red Crescent had previously warned about the imminent danger to the lives of the patients in the hospital due to the complete depletion of oxygen supplies for several days. The medical teams are unable to perform surgeries.

The society highlighted that the fuel reserves would be exhausted within four days, urging the international community to intervene urgently, exerting pressure on Israeli authorities to allow the entry of oxygen, medical supplies, and fuel to ensure the continuity of operations in the hospital.
