RAMALLAH, Monday, October 2, 2023 (WAFA) – The raids by hundreds of settlers of the Muslim holy place in Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as the injuries caused by Israeli occupation forces in various areas of the West Bank were highlighted on the front page of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today.
Al-Ayyam daily said while the Israeli police heavily restricted entry of Palestinian Muslims into Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform their worship, the holy compound was opened for Jewish extremists to freely roam its yards and perform religious rituals in violation of the status quo recognized in the Mosque area for decades.
Al-Quds daily also highlighted the injuries caused by the Israeli assaults and also said a Palestinian resident of occupied East Jerusalem was forced to demolish her two apartments under the pretext of construction without a permit.
It said that 859 settlers broke into Al-Aqsa Mosque under the leadership of the terrorist Kahanist and fascist Israeli cabinet minister Itamar Ben Gvir.
It said the archeological site of Sebastia in the north of the occupied West Bank was closed to Palestinians as settlers held activities there under army protection and that soldiers raided several Palestinian homes in its vicinity.
The third daily, al-Hayat al-Jadida, reported as well on the injuries and said a Gaza fisherman was among them when his boat was shot at by an Israeli navy ship as settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, Jilboun, Irtas, and Sebastia in the occupied West Bank.
The newspaper said that the Israeli prison forces raided section 5 in Ramon prison and moved all the Palestinian freedom fighters, as the prisoner Kayed al-Fasfous completed two months of hunger strike in protest against his detention without charges.
It said a British citizen walked 2700 kilometers from Europe to the occupied territories in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Al-Quds said the children in Gaza demonstrated outside the UNDP office demanding an end to the 17-year-long Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip demanding the right to live in freedom.
It quoted an Israeli newspaper saying Israel has increased economic aid to the Palestinian Authority by millions of dollars.
Al-Ayyam said an injured and detained Palestinian in in difficult condition in hospital.
It quoted the Israeli Haaretz newspaper saying that a large settlement project is being financed in the West Bank under the cover of agricultural projects.
The three dailies reported on the explosion in Turkey, the war in Ukraine, and the situation of the Armenians in Nagorno Karabakh.
