RAMALLAH, Sunday, September 24, 2023 (WAFA) - An increase has been noted in registered exports and imports in goods in July compared to the previous month, according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS.)
The PCBS said in a press release that exports increased in July, 2023 by 8% compared to June, 2023. It also increased by 15% compared to July, 2022 and reached USD 141.1 Million.
Exports to Israel increased in July, 2023 by 7% compared to June, 2023 and it represented 92% of total exports in July, 2023.
At the same time, exports to other countries increased by 26% during the same period compared to June, 2023.
Imports increased in July, 2023 by 3% compared to June, 2023. It also increased by 2% compared to July, 2022 and reached USD 699.6 Million.
Imports from Israel increased by 11% in July, 2023 compared to June, 2023 and it represented 58% of total imports in July, 2023.
On the other hand, imports from other countries decreased by 6% compared to June, 2023.
The trade balance which represents the difference between exports and imports showed an increase in trade deficit by 2% in July, 2023 compared to June, 2023. While it decreased by 1% compared to July, 2022 and reached USD 558.5 Million.
