Weather: Low-pressure front continues; another drop in temperature

RAMALLAH, Wednesday, March 15, 2023 (WAFA) – The cold low-pressure front affected Palestine yesterday is expected to continue today bringing another drop in temperature and cold conditions with rain, thunderstorms and possibly hail in most areas, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Winds are southeasterly to westerly, moderate to active, and sea waves are medium to high.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 13°C and a low of 6°C, and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 12°C and a low of 5°C are expected. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 22°C and a low of 12°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 18°C and a low of 10°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Moderate spring conditions return on Thursday as the temperature rises again to become around the seasonal average.

Another rise in temperature is expected on Friday to become slightly above the seasonal average.

A cold low-pressure front is expected to affect Palestine on Saturday, with a signficiant drop in temperature and cold conditions with rain, thunderstorms, said the PMD, which warned people of floods in valleys and low areas, mainly in the eastern parts of the country, slippery roads and low horizontal visibility.
