Dailies highlight call by six European countries to stop legalizing settlements

RAMALLAH, Sunday, March 5, 2023 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic language dailies focused today on a joint statement issued by France, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, and the UK, which urged the Israeli government to reverse its recent decision to advance the building of over 7,000 settlement building units in the occupied West Bank.

These are the main headlines:

Al-Quds:

- Six European countries call on Israel to stop legalizing settlements and condemn indiscriminate settler violence.

- Tens of thousands of Israelis demonstrate against the Netanyahu government and the judicial overhaul plan.

- Palestinian prisoners [in Israeli jails] continue their civil disobedience against the Israel Prison Service for the 19th day.

- The United States demands clarifications from Israel after disavowing the understandings reached in the Aqaba Summit last week.

- A UN official calls for Israel to be held accountable and to end its impunity.

Al-Hayat Al-Jadida:
