RAMALLAH, Sunday, February 26, 2023 (WAFA) – News about Israeli authorities seizing of 193 dunums of Palestinian lands in the occupied West Bank province of Jericho hit the front pages of the three Arabic Palestinian dailies on Sunday.
Al-Ayyam, al-Hayat al-Jadida and al-Quds said that Israeli occupation authorities have seized 193 dunums of Palestinian lands in the village of Al-Auja, in the occupied West Bank province of Jericho.
The dailies said that today, a high-level Palestinian delegation will participate in the five-party meeting hosted by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Aqaba, which includes Jordan, Egypt, the United States, Palestine and Israel.
The papers said that a Palestinian father and his son suffered injuries in an attack by armed Israeli settlers near the town of Salfit in the occupied West Bank.
Fayez Abd al-Dayem said a group of armed Israeli settlers attacked him and his son while they were working in their own land, adding that the settlers physically and verbally assaulted them and forced them out of their land.
Extremist Israeli settlers vandalized a Palestinian-owned shack and robbed its content near the town of Silwad, to the northeast of Ramallah, according to the newspapers.
They also added that hardcore Israeli settlers attacked Palestinians' homes and set two vehicles on fire in the village of Burin, in the occupied West Bank province of Nablus.
Malaysia strongly condemned the attack by the Israeli occupation forces in the northern West Bank city of Nablus on 22 February killing at least 11 Palestinians and injuring more than 100 others, as reported in al-Hayat al-Jadida.
Al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida said that tens of thousands of Israelis demonstrated for the eighth week in a row tonight in Tel Aviv against judicial overhaul plans by Benjamin Netanyahu's far-right government that critics say will undermine the judiciary.
The plans have drawn fierce opposition from leftist groups, and raised concerns among business leaders, widening already deep political divisions in Israeli society.
