Weather: Very cold conditions, rain showers expected

RAMALLAH, Thursday, February 2, 2023 (WAFA) – The low-pressure cold front that affected Palestine a couple of days ago is expected to decline today but very cold conditions, rain and thunderstorms are still expected in most areas, and possibly hail, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Winds are southwesterly to westerly, active and strong at times with gusts reaching 80 kilometers per hour, and sea waves are high.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 11°C and a low of 6°C, and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 10°C and a low of 5°C are expected. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 20°C and a low of 12°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 18°C and a low of 11°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

A chance of rain is expected also on Friday.

Palestine is expected to be affected by another low pressure on Saturday and Sunday being rain, thunderstorms and hail, said the PMD, which warned of flood formation in low areas and valleys, mainly in the Jordan Valley, high winds, slippery roads, and low horizontal visibility.
