HEBRON, Wednesday, January 11, 2023 (WAFA) – The Israeli military government today destroyed two Palestinian houses in the village of Bireen, south of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, according to the head of Bireen village council Farid Burqan.
He told WAFA that an army force raided the village and demolished two houses owned by two local residents, one 100 square meters in size displacing eight people, and the other 60 square meters that was still in the construction stage.
He said the army claims the two houses were built in area C of the occupied West Bank which is still under full Israeli military control.
Earlier, the army demolished two other Palestinian-owned buildings, each three stories high that were in the final stages of construction, in al-Baqaa area, east of Hebron, also under the pretext of construction in Area C and without a permit.
The new far-right Israeli government has pledged to prevent Palestinian construction in Area C and to demolish what is being built there.
