Several Palestinians sustain injuries in colonist attack south of Hebron

HEBRON, July 8, 2026 (WAFA) – Several Palestinians on Wednesday sustained injuries in an attack by Israeli colonists in the Huwara community, east of Yatta, south of Hebron, according to an activist.

Osama Makhamreh told WAFA that colonists, protected by Israeli occupation forces, attacked the community after driving their livestock into the inhabitants’ agricultural fields, resulting in several casualties.

He noted that several inhabitants, including minors, sustained bruises and suffocated due to being pepper-sprayed in their faces. They were treated at the scene by PRCS paramedics.

The gun-toting soldiers rounded up two brothers from the community.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
