Palestinians clash with Israeli soldiers near Jerusalem and in Hebron

JERUSALEM/HEBRON, Tuesday, February 15, 2022 (WAFA) – Palestinians clashed today with Israeli soldiers in the village of Abu Dis, east of Jerusalem, and in the southern West Bank city of Hebron without reporting any serious injuries.

Sources said soldiers attacked students of Al-Quds University in Abu Dis after holding a protest rally in support of Sheikh Jarrah residents in occupied East Jerusalem, who are fighting evictions and displacement by the Israeli authorities for the benefit of Jewish settlers, and in support of the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

The soldiers fired tear gas canisters at the students and at the university campus and in its vicinity causing several suffocation cases and disrupting classes.

In Hebron, soldiers pursued Palestinians near the old town, which is under Israeli army control, while shooting tear gas and sound bombs at them, forcing shops in the area to shut down, reported WAFA correspondent.

Earlier, several Palestinians were also hurt during confrontations with soldiers at Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron.
