Weather: Temperature drops, but remains above the annual average

RAMALLAH, Tuesday, May 11, 2021 (WAFA) – Weather today in Palestine remains hot despite a drop in temperature, which nevertheless remains 4°C above the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Winds are westerly to northwesterly, light to moderate and occasionally active while sea waves are low.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 29°C and a low of 18°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 28°C and a low of 17°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 39°C and a low of 23°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 29°C and a low of 20°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

A further slight drop in temperature is expected tomorrow, Wednesday, but remains few degrees above the average.

Moderate conditions are expected on Thursday as temperature further drops and approaches 2°C above the seasonal average.

No change in temperature or weather condition is expected on Friday, said the PMD, which warned people against direct exposure to sunlight for long period, especially from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and setting fire to dry grassy areas.
