RAMALLAH, Friday, May 07, 2021 (WAFA) – Weather today is mostly clear and mild in mountains and relatively hot to hot in other districts in daytime with a drop in temperature, which becomes seasonal, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Moderate to slightly cold conditions will prevail in nighttime. Light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly wind blows in daytime, while northwesterly to southwesterly wind blows in nighttime. Sea waves are low to medium.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 26°C and a low of 16°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 25°C and a low of 15°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 36°C and a low of 21°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 27°C and a low of 19°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
A significant rise is expected in temperature, which approaches 7°C above the seasonal average on Saturday, paving the way to mostly clear, dry and hot to extremely hot conditions in daytime. Moderate conditions are expected in nighttime, particularly in the mountains.
Sunday’s temperature is set to further rise and approach 11°C above the seasonal average, intensifying the heat stress.
Monday’s temperature is set to plummet and approach 5°C above the seasonal average, paving the way to partly cloudy and relatively hot to hot conditions in daytime. Moderate to slightly cold conditions are expected in nighttime.
PMD warns people against being exposed to the sun for long period, especially from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and setting fire to dry grassy areas.
