West Bank construction, road, water networks, and sewage networks cost indexes down in February - PCBS

RAMALLAH, Thursday, March 25, 2021 (WAFA) – Construction Cost Index (CCI), Road Cost Index (RCI), Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI), and Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank decreased during February in comparison to the previous month, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

CCI for residential buildings decreased by 0.15% due to a drop in prices of raw materials by 0.25%, and rental of equipment by 0.23%. At the same time, labor costs and wages remained stable during February compared with January.

CCI for non-residential buildings also decreased by 0.17% due to a drop in the prices of raw materials by 0.26%, and rental of equipment by 0.25%. At the same time, labor costs and wages remained stable.

CCI for skeleton buildings decreased by 0.45% due to a drop in the prices of raw materials by 0.69%, and rental of equipment by 0.23%. At the same time, labor costs and wages remained stable during February.

The overall RCI decreased by 0.40% in the West Bank during February compared with January due to a drop in the prices of raw materials by 0.62%, and rental of equipment by 0.17%, while operating costs of equipment and maintenance increased by 0.19%. At the same time, labor costs and wages remained stable.

The overall WNCI decreased by 0.33%, the Water Reservoirs Cost Index decreased by 0.93%, and Water Networks Cost Index decreased by 0.09%, said the PCBS.

The overall SNCI slightly decreased by 0.03% during February compared with January.
