RAMALLAH, Friday, February 19, 2021 (WAFA) – Weather today is cloudy, rainy and very cold in daytime with a slight rise in temperature, which remains unseasonably low, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Occasional torrential rain showers are expected on most districts with isolated thunderstorms and occasional hail, with the chance of rain tapering off towards the night. Partly cloudy and very cold conditions are expected in the night, and the chance remains for sporadic rainfall, mostly light.
Moderate to active southwesterly to westerly wind blows in daytime, while southwesterly to northwesterly wind blows in nighttime. Sea waves are medium to high.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 8°C and a low of 3°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 7°C and a low of 2°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 17°C and a low of 11°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 14°C and a low of 10°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Saturday’s temperature is set to slightly rise, yet remains unseasonably low, with partly cloudy to cloudy and cold conditions. Chance remains for scattered rain showers, particularly in the morning hours.
A slight additional rise in temperature is expected on Sunday, paving the way to partly cloudy and very cold conditions in the morning hours and cold conditions in the rest of the day.
Monday’s temperature is set to further rise, yet remains unseasonably low, with partly cloudy and very cold conditions in the morning and cold conditions in the rest of the day. The chance remains for rain with occasional hail, particularly in the north.
PMD warns people against flash floods in flood-prone areas, gusty wind, slippery roads, low horizontal visibility and frost formation on the mornings of Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
