Weather forecast: Occasional rain showers, isolated thunderstorms expected

RAMALLAH, Friday, February 5, 2021 (WAFA) – Weather today is partly cloudy to cloudy and relatively cold in daytime and relatively cold to cold in nighttime with steady temperature, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Sporadic rain showers with isolated thunderstorms and occasional hail are expected on some districts, with the chance of rainfall tapering off towards the night. Moderate to strong northwesterly to northeasterly wind blows in daytime, while northwesterly to westerly wind blows in nighttime. Sea waves are low to medium.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 14°C and a low of 9°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 13°C and a low of 8°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 21°C and a low of 15°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 17°C and a low of 11°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Saturday’s temperature is set to rise, with cloudy to partly cloudy and relatively cold conditions in daytime and cold conditions in nighttime. A slight chance of light rainfall is expected.

A further rise is expected in temperature which becomes unseasonably high on Sunday, paving the way to clear to partly cloudy and mild conditions in mountainous districts and relatively warm conditions in the Jordan Valley in daytime. Relatively cold conditions are expected in nighttime.

A further rise is expected in temperature on Monday, paving the way to partly cloudy to clear and mild conditions in mountains and relatively warm conditions in other districts. Relatively cold conditions are expected in nighttime.

PMD warns people against floods in flood-prone areas, especially in the eastern and southern districts, gusty wind, slippery roads and low horizontal visibility.
