RAMALLAH, Thursday, January 28, 2021 (WAFA) – A cold front has affected Palestine since last night bringing a significant drop in temperature along with rain, thunderstorms and occasional hail, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Winds are southwesterly to westerly, moderate to strong, and sea waves are medium to high.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 10°C and a low of 6°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 9°C and a low of 5°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 17°C and a low of 12°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 15°C and a low of 10°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

The cold front is expected to continue tomorrow, Friday, with a further drop in temperature. Sporadic rain with thunderstorms and occasional hail are expected mainly in the northern and central regions of Palestine.

A slight rise in temperature is expected on Saturday as the cold front continues. Sporadic rain is expected, particularly in the north, during the day and subsides in the evening.

Clear skies are expected on Sunday with another rise in temperature.

PMD warns people against floods in low areas and valleys, strong wind, slippery roads and low horizontal visibility due to fog formation close to earth.
