RAMALLAH, Tuesday, January 26, 2021 (WAFA) – Weather today in Palestine is partly cloudy and relatively cold in mountainous districts and mild in other districts with a slight rise in temperature, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Winds are northeasterly to southeasterly, light to moderate, and sea waves are low.
Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 17°C and a low of 10°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 16°C and a low of 9°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 23°C and a low of 12°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 20°C and a low of 13°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
A further slight rise in temperature is expected tomorrow, Wednesday, as conditions become moderate in most areas of Palestine.
However, a polar low-pressure cold front is expected to affect the region on Thursday, causing temperatures to plummet and paving the way to cloudy, stormy and very cold conditions. Rain is expected in most districts with occasional thunderstorms and hail.
The cold front, rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue on Friday with another drop in temperature, said the PMD, which warned people against flood formation in low areas and valleys on Thursday and Friday, strong winds, slippery roads, and low horizontal visibility due to fog formation close to earth.
