RAMALLAH, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 (WAFA) – Weather today in Palestine is very cold as heavy rain, thunderstorms, and occasional hail are expected in all districts with a significant drop in temperature, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Snow flurries are expected on high mountains until the afternoon and evening hours as the rainfall and the low pressure start to subside.
Winds are westerly to northwesterly, active and occasionally strong, and sea waves are high.
Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 7°C and a low of 3°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 6°C and a low of 2°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 16°C and a low of 10°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 13°C and a low of 8°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Clear skies are expected, tomorrow, Thursday with a slight rise in temperature but the cold conditions continue, mainly in the mountainous districts in Palestine.
Another rise in temperature is expected for Friday and Saturday, said the PMD, which warned people against floods in valleys and low areas, strong winds, slippery roads and low horizontal visibility due to the heavy rain and fog, as well as frost and ice formation in the early morning hours of Thursday and Friday night.
