Palestinian and international activists demand protection for residents of south Hebron hills

HEBRON, Sunday, January 03, 2021 (WAFA) – Palestinian and international activists today held a protest rally in al-Rakiz hamlet in Masafer Yatta, in the south Hebron hills, against the Israeli army and settler attacks targeting the area’s Palestinian residents, according to Fouad al-Amour, a local activist.

He told WAFA that the protesters demanded international protection for the vulnerable residents of Masafer Yatta cluster of hamlets in light of the recent surge in attacks against them by soldiers and settlers alike.

Soldiers two days ago shot and paralyzed Haroun Abu Aram, 24, who was trying to protect his property from being seized by the soldiers. He was shot in the neck at point-blank and was later reported to be paralyzed from the neck down after the bullet hit his spine and nerves.
