RAMALLAH, May 31, 2012 (WAFA) – Zohair Labadeh, 51, who was released from Israeli prison last week, died Thursday in a Nablus hospital following rapid deterioration in his health, according to the director of the Nablus National Hospital Husam al-Jawhari.
He said that Labadeh was admitted to the hospital in a coma following his release last Thursday after spending five months in jail. He was suffering from serious health condition due to kidney and liver failure.
He said medical crew at the hospital tried to save his life, but he died from serious health complications.
Labadeh was arrested several times in the past, the latest was in December 2011 and placed in administrative detention. He spent most of his prison sentence at the Ramleh prison clinic. He was released only after it was evident he had few days to live.
