RAMALLAH, March 7, 2011 (WAFA) - Water Authority Chair, Shaddad AL-Ateeli and Representative of the Czech Republic to Palestine, Evo Shafi, Monday signed a memorandum of understanding concerning cooperation to support MYWAS project with more than $318,000 for three years.

MYWAS is software for water management and conflict resolution.

The project includes collecting consumption data, financial and economic data in various areas in the West Bank and feeding them into MYWAS models.

In return, the project will be applied in other Irrigation, agriculture and water basins projects, and number of workshops will be held within the following years.

Czech Republic continually supports the advancement of the water sector in Palestine, in addition to promoting and raising the efficiency and capacity of the Water Authority; in planning plus economic and social analysis, as well as to providing alternatives to the social norms and policies to help decision-makers make the appropriate decisions.
