Israeli police Thursday turned over a tent set up as an observation post on the roof of a building belonging to a Palestinian family in the heart of Silwan to a more permanent structure. The police use it to monitor the situation in Silwan.
The family which lives in the building has complained that the presence of the police disturb it and make its life difficult.
Silwan has witnessed ongoing tension and clashes between Palestinians and Israeli forces due to Israeli attempts to demolish Palestinian homes and build a Jewish public park in their place.
