JENIN, February 2, 2011(WAFA) – Palestinians who held a sit in in solidarity with prisoners Wednesday called on humanitarian organizations and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to pressure on the Israeli authorities to stop harassment of prisoners.

They asked the ICRC to help in allowing prisoners to get proper health care as well as improve their living conditions. They asked that Israel put an end to solitary confinement policy.
 
Speeches delivered during the event stated that pressure and harassments imposed on the prisoners require an immediate intervention from  ICRC.
 
Families of prisoners participating in the sit-in raised pictures of their sons as well as slogans calling for improving the deteriorating health conditions of the prisoners.
