RAMALLAH, February 2, 2011 (WAFA) - Israeli forces raided several West Bank cities early Wednesday and arrested 12 Palestinians, according to Palestinian security sources.
They said Israeli soldiers raided the homes of two Palestinians in Hebron and three in Jenin refugee camp and assaulted them before detaining them.
Israeli forces also assaulted several Palestinians in Hebron in the southern West Bank and assaulted and beat others after raiding their homes, according to security sources.
Safwat Abu Samra and Mohammed Salem from Hebron were transferred to hospital after suffering moderate injuries from the beatings.
The Israeli army has been arresting scores of Palestinians from different areas in the West Bank this week, a policy which the Palestinian Authority has strongly criticized as undermining its rule in these areas. The army arrested 22 Palestinians on Monday and 12 on Tuesday.
