RAMALLAH, February 2, 2011 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Salam Fayyad began Wednesday an official three-day visit to France for meetings with French officials and to sign cooperation agreements.
He is also expected to meet members of the ad hoc committee of the donor countries.
Fayyad is scheduled to meet French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Prime Minister Francois Fillon along with French solidarity groups.
France had recently suggested expanding the role of the international quartet and the European Union as well as giving the Arab countries a bigger role in the search for political solutions in the region.
Official French sources said that Paris was ready to hold the second Paris conference for the donor countries with a purpose of support Fayyad’s state institutions building plan. The conference was held in 2007.
