JERUSALEM, February 1, 2011 (WAFA) - Israeli soldiers Tuesday raided the home of Mohammed Sufyan, a Palestinian resident of the Jerusalem area village of Silwan, and took him in for interrogation, according to local residents.
Sufyan’s family said police raided their house in a brutal manner and prevented Sufyan from wearing heavy clothes to protect him against the cold weather before taking him away.
Meanwhile, the Israeli Magistrate court ordered Mousa Odeh, a member of the Defense Committee of the Bustan area in Silwan, expelled for one month from the village and fined him 3,000 shekel ($830) for his activities against Israeli attempts to turn the Bustan area into a Jewish park after demolishing all the area Palestinian homes.
Israeli courts also extended the remand of two other Palestinian activists for participating in confrontations that occurred in Silwan.
