RAMALLAH, January 25, 2011 (WAFA) – Head of the water authority Shaddad Al- Atteli Tuesday signed an agreement with UNICEF to develop the water sector in the West Bank and Gaza Strip worth $5 million for the years 2011 and 2012.

The water authority said the terms of the agreement support the development of the water sector, capacity building program and development of water quality monitoring system.

It also included provisions to support water sector in Gaza Strip, the establishment of desalination stations and coordination between various water sectors for human needs.

UNICEF explained that this agreement is part of its continuous support for the advancement of water sector through coordination and organization of various activities.
