JERUSALEM, January 25, (WAFA)- The Israeli Knesset is expected to vote Wednesday on a proposed bill by Dov Henin, member of the leftist Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (Hadash).
Henin’s bill calls for equality in housing for Arabs and Jews.
The bill aims to ensure that no one gets exposed to discrimination during the search for a house. It also prohibits apartment or land owners from requesting any medical reports or military service information from applicants.
Henin said that the bill comes as a continuation to demonstrations including Jewish and Arab progressive forces in Tel-Aviv against racist attacks on democratic values.
