JERUSALEM, January 25, 2011 (WAFA) – Israeli forces and soldiers Tuesday closed the area of Wadi Hilwa in Silwan, the closest area to Al Aqsa mosque from its south side.

Israeli military and police patrols closed the main entrance to the neighborhood from Al Magharbi gate, one of Jerusalem’s old city gates.

This comes together with the Israeli announcement yesterday of the opening of a new tunnel from Silwan to this area.

Israeli soldiers are not allowing journalists and media near the site.
