TEL AVIV, January 18, 2011 (WAFA) – An Israeli military spokesperson said Tuesday that four mortars were shot from the Gaza Strip and fell in the west of the Naqab desert in southern Israel.
No Palestinian faction has declared responsibility for the shooting.
The four mortars fell in open areas in Eshkol Regional Council. No injuries or damages were reported.
Hamas had renewed, last week, its call to Palestinian factions to observe an agreement made between them that calls for ceasing the firing of missiles at Israel from Gaza.
Taher El Nounou, spokesman of Hamas, said this agreement stemmed from considering the interest of the public and protecting the Palestinian people, stressing Hamas will play its role in strengthening and enforcing national harmony.
