Israel Continues Arbitrary Arrests, Raids Homes

WEST BANK, January 16, 2011 (WAFA) - Israeli forces raided several villages Sunday near Hebron, south of the West Bank, arresting nine men from one family.

Security sources said the soldiers broke in to several homes, breaking furniture and other household items.

Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers harassed three young men trying to pray in Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem at dawn today. The soldiers allowed the men to enter the mosque after taking their ID numbers.

Such procedures are becoming the norm, with Jews and Muslims sharing the area surrounding the Aqsa Mosque to pray.

Jewish worshippers continue to clash with Muslims over the right to pray in the grounds of Al Aqsa mosque, claiming it is built on the ruins of the Jewish Temple.
