JERUSALEM, January 11, 2011 (WAFA) - Israeli police today summoned the head of the Committee for the Defense of Silwan, Fakhri Abu Diab and his wife for interrogation in Jerusalem.
Abu Diab has been interrogated several times and his 18 year old son was arrested yesterday.
Israel has made numerous arrests after a series of confrontations during protests against threatened expulsion of Silwan activists and attempts to build an illegal settlement in the heart of the Arab neighborhood of East Jerusalem.
Israel plans to demolish 88 Arab homes in the Bustan area of Silwan to make way for the construction of a Jewish park and possibly housing for Jews.
Adnan Gheith, a Silwan activist, has been served with an expulsion order to leave Jerusalem for three months.
