Hammad: Israel Seeks Reactions through Practice of Murder, Provocation

CAIRO, January 9, 2011 (WAFA) – Presidential political advisor Nimr Hammad Sunday accused Israeli authorities of escalating the situation and provoking Palestinians through murder in the West Bank.

Hammad said that Israel’s international isolation is increasing and that cold blooded murders and ongoing arrests won’t be in its interest, according to comments published by “Aljumhuriya” Egyptian newspaper.

He claimed that the reason behind such actions is to provoke Palestinians’ strong reactions which will be used by Israel to escape pressure and international isolation.

Hammad praised Egyptian efforts in supporting the Palestinian cause, stressing there will be no peace without restoring Palestinians’ full rights including the establishment of a fully sovereign independent state within the borders of June 1967 with its capital in East Jerusalem.

He held Israel and its Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, responsible for the impasse in the peace process, adding that Israel must fully stop settlement activity and accept a solution that guarantees the establishment of a Palestinian state.
