RAMALLAH, January 22, 2010 (WAFA)- President Mahmoud Abbas told Friday the U.S. Envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell that the American Administration has to work with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to give up his preconditions if it is willing to resume rapidly the peace negotiations.
Speaking to reports following a meeting between Abbas and Mitchell in the Presidential HQ in Ramallah, Head of the Negotiations Affairs Department in the Palestine Liberation Organization Dr. Saeb Erakat said that the “talks with the U,S. Envoy concentrated on an immediate resumption of negotiations. We want to resume it, but the American Administration has to work with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to give up his preconditions if it is willing to resume rapidly the peace negotiations.”
