Weekly Trading Report : Al-Quds Index Closes at 498. Points

NABLUS, November 19, 2009 (WAFA)- This week PSE' transactions vouched quite transaction that hadn’t been different from the previous weeks which had been characterized in shallow transaction, but executing several institutional transaction raised the weeks transaction %6 after trading of 2.01 million shares that valued $5.13 million, while BPC had constituted by %27 of market aggregate trading value.

Al –Quds index gained by %0.62 and closed at the level of 498.17 points, in general (32) companies' shares were traded, where (10) witnessed an increase, (17) witnessed a decreased and the rest (5) companies' shares stabled.

PALTEL board of directors decided in its session held today 19/11/2009 to consider PALTEL-ZAIN deal as no longer valid, inactive and expired accordingly with the agreement between the two parties due to passing the agreed time frame to complete and finalize the deal without being able to fulfill the main requirements and rules related to the deal, while Services sector's index recorded an increase of %1.46 stimulated by PALTEL which in turn earned by %1.93. PALTEL had touched earlier this week the level of 5 dinars, but the last two sessions this week was enough to achieve the height mentioned.

In the same sector, GCOM decreased this week by %9.17 and ended its transaction at the level of $1.09, while PEC managed to maintained stability when it closed at the level of $0.98 same closed of the last week , While Mr. Walid Salman chief executive of the company expected the value profits for the current year to raised by 10% the value of the profits achieved last year, which amounted to about$6.27 million.

Investment sector's slightly increased by %0.21 while PADICO ascended by %0.79 when it closed at the level of $1.27 after trading of $0.26 million, while PIIC dominated the market in terms of the gaining by %8.57 to close at the level of JD0.76 after transaction that valued $0.29 million.

The biggest loser for this week was Banking sector's index declined by %1.06 where BOP dropped by %0.82 closing at the level of $3.63 while AMB decreased by %3.70 ending its transactions at level of $0.78, Where as Quds increased by %2.59 closing at $1.19, in the same sector ISBK and AIB declined by %1.37 and %2.44 respectively, while ISBK closed at level of $0. 72 and AIB closed at $1.20.

Industry sector index gained by %1.07 affected by BPC gaining %1.39 to close at level of JD3.65 after 1.39 million dollar trading value, most of it were characterized as institutional transactions.
