President Abbas: Asking SC to Issue Resolution on Establishing State is not Unilateral

CAIRO, November 17, 2009 (WAFA)- President Mahmoud Abbas affirmed, today, that going to the Security Council to issue a resolution concerning the establishment of a Palestinian State is not a Palestinian Unilateral decision, but an implementation of a resolution by the Arab Initiative ministerial meeting last Thursday.

He pointed that the Palestinian Authority is serious in its decision to go to the Security Council, with Arab support, to issue a resolution concerning the establishment of an independent Palestinian State in the borders of June 4, 1967.

He clarified, in a press conference held after his meeting with Egyptian president Mubarak that the PA refuses the idea of a temporary state and the ideas suggested by the former Israeli minister Sha’ol Mofaz, criticizing Hamas’ approval of them.
