2 Civilians Wounded in Bethlehem, Israeli Thrust into Jenin
BETHLEHEM, April 12, 2004 (WAFA) – Two Palestinian citizens were wounded early Monday after having been brutally beaten up by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank city of Bethlehem, medical sources reported.... Beit Jala Hospital sources said that the two citizens suffered bruises and light wounds in different parts of their bodies.... Israeli soldiers stationed at Wadi al-Nar street attacked civilians while trying to pass Israeli military checkpoint, witnesses said.... Meanwhile, Israeli Occupation Forces swept into Jenin city and attacked civilians in Bethlehem, Palestinian security sources and witnesses said.... The security sources reported that around twenty Israeli tanks and armoured personnel carriers rolled into Jenin and its Refugee Camp, amid intensive heavy fire.... Witnesses said Israeli troops hurled stun bombs and opened intensive fire at civilians’ houses, causing a state of panic among children and women.... They added that Israeli soldiers launched a house-to-house search campaign, and provocatively assaulted citizens....
