IOF Shoots at Norwegian Delegation in Gaza

KHANYUNIS, March 30, 2004, (WAFA) - Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened Monday afternoon intensive gunfire at a Norwegian delegation that visited in the southern Gaza Strip towns and refugee camps of Rafah and Khanyounis.... The delegation that arrived in Gaza two days ago decided to visit several Palestinian refugee camps and towns aiming at showing solidarity with the Palestinian people. It was headed by the Administrative Director of the Global Heath project Stain Forsank, accompanied by Khanyunis mayor Usama al-Farra.... Forsank made it clear that the Israeli shooting, with the fact that the delegation was raising a UN flag, is a strong evidence for the Israeli incredibility in accusing the Palestinian people of being terrorists.... He pointed out that the Israeli colonizers, backed by the IOF, is the fuel that ignites violence.... He reiterated that “most of the Scandinavian countries do not have a clue about what is going on in Palestine as the Israelis kill innocent people, mostly children," adding, "This is what we saw by our own eyes when the Israeli soldiers opened fire at us in Khanyunis and Rafah cities.".. He also said that the Israeli settlers [colonizers] and occupying forces "have to leave the Palestinian territories as they constitute a threat to stability," adding, "We would be honored to convey what we went through to the Norwegian people....” “The Palestinian people are living hell due to the Israeli inhumane practices. The Norwegian government will keep supporting the Palestinian cause,” said Forsank, affirming that his government would continue supporting Khanyounis and all other Palestinian cities in Gaza and the West Bank.... --
