GAZA, March 29, 2004, (WAFA)- Five Palestinian civilians were arrested on Wednesday by Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) south of Gaza, witnesses and security sources said.... Witnesses said that Israeli soldiers, stationed at the military checkpoint of al-Matahen, south of Gaza City, arrested five citizens.... "Israeli soldiers detained tens of vehicles and hundreds of citizens for several hours," eyewitness said, "they searched vehicles and patted-down several citizens and arrested five...." Palestinian security sources told WAFA five unidentified citizens were arrested by IOF while they were trying to cross al-Matahen checkpoint.... Later on, IOF blocked the Salah-aI-Dine main road, connecting the southern and northern parts of the Gaza Strip, security sources added.... WAFA reporter said hundreds of women, children, students and workers of human organizations were detained at the al-Matahen checkpoint....
