Two Wounded in Rafah, One in Khan-Younis
RAFAH, March 3, 2004, (WAFA)- Two Palestinian civilian were wantonly wounded Wednesday afternoon by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in Rafah City, in southern Gaza Strip, Palestinian medics reported.... IOF, stationed at the Morraj colony, north of Rafah, shot and wounded two citizens, witnesses said.... Medical sources said one of the citizens was shot with a live gunshot in the right leg while the other in the left.... Earlier in Khan-Younis City, south of Gaza, Palestinian medical sources said one citizen was wounded after being shot by IOF.... Medics at Nasser Hospital in the city confirmed that Mohammed al Nafaar, 35, was shot with a live gunshot in his right leg.... The city has been subjected to an intensive and random shooting all night and day by Israeli gaily soldiers stationed at the Israeli colonies of "Naveh Dekalim" and "Gani Tal," eyewitnesses told a WAFA reporter in the area.... In the city of Rafah, residents said that the IOF bombarded earlier today the civilian houses in Al-Sallam neighbourhood using tank shells and heavy machinegun fire.... They told reporters that the Israeli occupation soldiers, stationed at the borderline with Egypt opened random fire on the houses of the neighbourhood.... Palestinian municipal sources in the city confirmed that the bombardment inflicted a grave damage to the targeted houses, spreading a state of panic among residents mostly children and women.... Meanwhile, IOF fired an artillery shell against a civilian house in al Barahma area of the city, according to the sources.... In Beit-Hanoun town, in northern of Gaza Strip, IOF opened heavy fire on the civilian houses, security sources said.... The sources added that the Israeli occupation soldiers, stationed at Beit-Hanoun crossing,(Erez) opened machinegun fires on the civilian houses in the area.... - -
