JENIN, June 2, 2017 (WAFA) – A sixteen year old Palestinian girl Friday succumbed to wounds she sustained on Thursday after being shot by Israeli forces following an alleged stabbing attack to the south of Jenin’s town of Y’abad, said medical sources.
The girl, Nouf Infi’at, 16, was shot and severally injured by Israeli forces’ fire after she allegedly carried out a stabbing attack against an Israeli soldier manning an Israeli checkpoint erected at the entrance gate to the Israeli settlement of Mevo Dotan, an Illegal West Bank settlement under international law.
The body of Infi‘at will be handed over to her family for burial later in the day at approximately 6:30 PM at Salem military checkpoint.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry denounced, in a press statement, the Israeli soldiers’ field execution of the teenager, calling upon human rights and humanitarian organizations to promptly document the details of this ‘heinous’ crime and other crimes committed by Israel against the Palestinian people to be submitted to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The soldiers prevented medical crews present at the scene from providing the girl with first aid, and insulted her as she laid helplessly and critically injured on the ground, said the ministry.
